Our Opinion
Royal Island is Villa Hotels fifth resort and is intended to be the jewel in the crown. The standards in construction are second to none and the materials used to make this resort are the best available with no expense spared. We highly recommend this resort which is exceptional value for money offering a superb combination of watersports and land based sports.

Summary
Royal Island is the latest addition to the Villa Hotels chain and was opened in 2001. Natives call this island Horubadhoo, situated in the Baa Atoll, just 30 minutes by sea plane or 2hrs 30 mins by speed boat from Male International Airport.

With its fine array of palm trees and banyan trees which give the interior a special feeling, this is a fine island. It has excellent beaches and the rooms are well separated from one another.
